With the strong winds the past few afternoons, fishing has been a little off. The people, who went to the reef early however, were pleased with their catches.
The bay was loaded with snapper blues. We had one of our rental boats come back with over 35 fish between 15-25″.
The fluke that were caught in the bay were at a more modest 1-2 keepers per boat.
Kingfish and blowfish have been more of a hit or miss subject and mostly because we haven’t heard too many out fishing for them. Fish bites and clam are the trick, along with heavy chumming.
Smaller weakies are still around in the 13-16″ range.
Crabbing has stalled a bit but will get better as the weather improves.
