Thurs 8/11

The weather is going to be very unsettled for the next few days so fishing may be tough with the southwest winds blowing strong.

You can anchor up in the bay and still catch some kingfish at 139 and clamstakes, along with small snapper blues. Weakfish still here running in the 10-14″ range.

Crashing still not that great but should improve day by day.

Tues 8/9

Today was one of those days that if you were out on a boat in the bay or the ocean, you had a good chance of bringing home fish. Our rentals had a plethora of fish today. Fish were plentiful in the 132 area and others raved about the action over at Garden State South that would bite in anything. Had another guy catch them up at Little Egg Reef on peanut bunker.

Weakies are still showing, along with snapper blues. Crabbing continues to be on the quiet side for a bit with the pregnant females around.

Friday, August 5

There are a lot of Bluefish being caught over by Holgate. These little guys are about 3-5 lbs. and are coming in and out with the tides.

Weakfish are still around and are also on the smaller side but guys are still pulling in a keeper every now and then.

We are starting to get a few reports of Kingfish being caught here and there for those who are anchored up and chumming.

Flounder fishing has been unpredictable at best. We had a guy with a nice 4 pound Fluke along with 3 other keepers as well. The same guy came back and fished yesterday and had nothing but throwbacks. It seems to be hit or miss depending on the day. #126 always seems to be the spot to catch fish tho.

Crabbing is okay but there are a lot of females with egg sacks which you cannot keep. Hoping to see things improve within the next couple of weeks.

Thurs 7/28

Keeper Fluke continue to be served up from the bay for those who were out over the past few days Had 3 brought in on one of our rentals caught in the 132 area and several caught over in front of the Fish Factory. Weakies are also still being caught on a fairly decent basis

With the unsettled weather for the next few days, be aware of your surroundings if out on the water. We have had several nasty storms come thru and we want everyone to stay safe.

Tues – 7/26

Fluking has turned on over at Marshelder and the Brick Pile over the past few days but it wasn’t long lived. There had to be over 30 boats out there on Saturday alone. Anglers are still doing okay in front of 126 and the Fish Factory. There are still lots of shorts but people are catching keeper Fluke out there.

People are also still catching some Weakfish out in the bay while bucktailing for Fluke.

Crabbing has dropped off just a bit, with smaller crabs being taken. We may have to wait until the next full moon to see some of the larger crabs come back.

The ocean remains hit or miss for Flounder. The Garden State North/South are still the most productive.

Not much on the blowfish or kingfish scene yet, although we did hear of in influx of Kingfish coming up through Cape May a few days ago. Let’s hope we get a shot at them this year.

If anybody wants Tuna, now is the time to get out to the canyons and get them.

For all you kayakers out there, we have added a few fishing kayaks into the fleet this week. Call ahead to reserve.

Happy Fishing…

Weds – July 20

I hate to jinx us and say this out loud but fishing in the bay today was some of the best we have seen in a long time. We weighed in 3 Fluke at over 5 pounds, along with seeing quite a few other nice fish brought home to the dock. Most were caught in the 126 area, Fish Factory and drifting the inlet. The best tide today seemed to be the incoming to the top of the tide. Basically nothing happening now in the ocean. Funny how quickly things change.

Even crabbing took a crazy good turn with one of our rentals bringing in 4 dozen.

Weakies are hitting just about anything out there. Sizes are ranging anywhere from 10-15″. Seems to be better on incoming tide.

Let’s hope the fishing gods keep us busy for a while.

Fishing update – Sat 7/16

Reports are okay for Fluking in the bay. One day Grassy is producing and other days there are still, some nice catches out in front of the Fish Factory. We also weighed in a nice 4 lb. – fluke caught off the last bridge on Great Bay Blvd., with several others lost in the same spot.
Peanut Bunker have shown up and so have the Weakfish. We have had several rental boat customers along with some slip customers catching weakies this past week.
The Rutgers Cans, Garden State South/North etc., producing more fish, however there is still a lot of shorts mixed in, with some nice dinner plate sized fish coming back. Bunker were all over the place today and small snapper blues were chasing them.
Crabbing continues to be a bit of a challenge but there is a full moon coming up which may help turns things around.

July 5, 2016

Looking forward to a hot week ahead with our first heatwave coming. Cool off out on the water and bring home some fresh fish for dinner.

Fluking in the bay has produced some nice sized fish this weekend over by the Fish Factory, But as good as those catches were, there were lulls…..if there is too much boat traffic, the fish will spook and take off. Intercoastal, Grassy Channel and Inlet are also places to drift if your spot because too congested.

Fluke are showing up in nice numbers also out in the ocean at your favorite sports such as Little Egg Reef, Garden State S/N.

Crabbing is okay but still hasn’t taken off yet .

July 3, 2016

We are experiencing a personal family crisis and we apologize for the lack of reports. The marina will be open for gas, bait, and to ramp your boat. We do not, however, have the capacity to allow rental boats out at this time. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you and have a safe and happy holiday.

With that being said, here is an update of the past two days.

Fluke have started to show up in better numbers this weekend. Reports that a nice 9 lb + was weighed in and we also had a nice 7.7 lb fatty brought to the scale yesterday. Both were caught out in front of the Fish Factory. Others have done well over by 126 thru 137 and intercoastal as well as clam stakes and in front of Rands over to Capt Mikes. Get drift going and work it. There are fish to be caught :-). Reports of some nice Fluke being caught outside as well. Weakfish are around also. Crabbing is still a tad slow but you can have some for dinner if you put your time in.

6-20-16

Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day!!

Fishing over the weekend brought lots of sunshine and anglers out. Mixed results depended on where you were. Saturday out in the clam stakes seemed to produce lots of skates and sharks, while those who were over by the Fish Factory or 126 did a little better. All depended on the drift! Some smaller snapper blues still in the area, along with some weakfish showing in early morning or late afternoon. Full moon is tonight so we are hoping to see the crabbing turn on soon also.
